Launch of new drawing to mark the 800th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi in the Holy Land
At Santa Croce, Florence, in the sala del Cenacolo, our artwork ‘St Francis in the Holy Land’ forms part of the backdrop to an important event to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the meeting between Francis and Sutan al-Malik al-Kamil in Egypt.
Protagonists of the event were his Highness PRINCE EL HASSAN BIN TALAL DI GIORDANIA, president of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies in Amman and the CARDINAL MIGUEL ANGEL AYUSO GUIXOT, president of the Pontificio Consiglio per il Dialogo Interreligioso; all the authorities were present including the Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, the Prefect Laura Lega, the Archbishop of Florence, Cardinal Betori and Father Gambetti, Custodian of the Sacred Convent of Assisi.
A copy of our artwork was presented by us to all present.
In Cortona, for the occasion of the feast of St Francis celebrated on the 4th of October with the donation of oil, the Mayor of Cortona, Luciano Meoni and all of the authorities assisted in the presentation of our new artwork - in collaboration with and with the support of the council of Cortona, the Franciscan Friars minor and the Centre of Studies Frate Elia, represented by father Antonio di Marcantonio.

A Santa Croce Firenze, nella sala del Cenacolo, la nostra opera ‘San Francesco in Terra Santa’ fa da sfondo al grande evento che celebra gli 800 anni dall’incontro di San Francesco e il Sultano al-Malik al-Kamil.
Ospiti d’eccezione IL PRINCIPE EL HASSAN BIN TALAL DI GIORDANIA, presidente del Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies di Amman e IL CARDINALE MIGUEL ANGEL AYUSO GUIXOT, presidente del Pontificio Consiglio per il Dialogo interreligioso; presenti tutte le autorità, il sindaco di Firenze Nardella, il Prefetto Laura Lega, l’arcivescovo di Firenze, cardinale Betori e padre Gambetti, custode del Sacro Convento ad Assisi.
Una copia della nostra opera è stata a tutti loro da noi donata.
A Cortona, in occasione delle celebrazioni del 4 novembre con la donazione dell’olio, il sindico di Cortona Luciano Meoni e tutte le autorità cittadine sono intervenute alla presentazione della nostra opera.
Tutto questo in collaborazione e con il patrocinio del comune di Cortona, dei frati francescani minori conventuali e del Centro Studi Frate Elia, rappresentati da padre Antonio di Marcantonio.
