Message in a Bottle You loved the sea, it was where you felt most alive amongst its waves … I know if you had to choose a place to rest it would be on the soft sand, with the rays from the distant sun warming your tired bones, so I sent you a message in a bottle in the hope it would find you there. Your wise soul already knows the words I wrote and you will smile at the memory of me, far away in this world, missing you and longing to touch your hand one more time. I hear you whisper to me from the depths to dry my tears, smile and grasp the gift that is this brief life, as after all, our souls can never die. When I come to the sea I know you are there beneath the waves, waiting for me in paradise with my letters in your hand… For Luigi, my husband, my life - the black cat who left this world on 24th November 2023

This drawing takes you on a journey in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi through the green heart of Italy in Umbria, where his life story begins and ends, into Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Lazio and beyond. Francis was...(READ THE COMPLETE STORY IN DEDICATED BOOKLET)

Elias was not only a spiritual friend and close companion of Francis of Assisi, he was a strategic figure in the growth and development of the Franciscan Order throughout Europe and in the Holy Land. His great intellect and charisma led him to play a key role as a negotiator and diplomat. Highly educated, advisor to the Holy Roman Emperor, Frederick II, he was a skilled engineer and architect, his greatest work being the final resting place of Saint Francis, the magnificent basilica in Assisi. His attempts to resolve differences between the empire and papacy would culminate in his excommunication, but in the years that followed, his continuing dedication to the memory of Francis and the Order he founded was focused on Cortona, where he had extended Le Celle and designed and constructed the Church and Convent of Saint Francis, the prototype for all Franciscan churches that followed. Reconciled with the church before his death, Elias of Cortona was laid to rest in the choir, close to the relics of Saint Francis and the fragment of the Holy Cross gifted to him in the Holy Land. He was, despite the controversy and mystery that surrounded him in life and after death, a genius of his time. This drawing is my way of telling his story, from what little we know, in gratitude for the mark he left on the world. Kate Bray (Agnelli) August 2024

The Circle of Life We are all born pure as the mountain spring. Slowly we grow our roots to seek nourishment deep in the earth and we rise to meet the sun. As we pass through each phase of our lives, our experiences are etched on our once smooth skin like bark on an old oak tree. Yes, the wise old oak has many stories to tell the few who take time to listen. He knows that one day we will all return to the woods to rest in its shade, to breathe our last breath… only to be reborn again in this never ending circle of LIFE

Flight towards Infinity Our life is brief but beautiful and like the butterfly, we grow to our full colourful splendour. We flit around in a dance, flying high and low as we seek the sweetness in life. Our inner light guides us slowly towards an unknown and mysterious place, until we fly for a final time towards infinity. Dedicated to my husband Luigi, wherever you are in infinity…
